What You Can Expect
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
AND
WHAT YOU MIGHT INFORM YOUR CLIENTS TO EXPECT
WHEN THEY ARE REFERRED FOR AN EXAMINATION
Dr.
Dennis will expect the examinee to:

Be frank and
honest in all communications.

Be informed prior
to the visit that magnification of symptoms will be noted and
serves no one’s interest.

Bring all MRI,
X-Rays and any and all other documentation with them to the
IME exam.
The examinee can be told to expect
Dr. Dennis to:
-
Respect the rights
of the examinee and other participants, and treat those
individuals with dignity and respect.
-
Introduce himself
to the examinee as the examining physician.
-
Advise the
examinee they are seeing him/her for an independent medical
examination, and the information provided will be used in
assessment and presented in a report.

Provide the
examinee with the name of the party requesting the
examination.
-
Advise the
examinee that no treating physician-patient relationship will
be established.
-
Explain the
examination process.
-
Provide adequate
draping and privacy if the examinee needs to remove clothing
for the examination and to have a chaperone available for all
female exams.
-
Refrain from
derogatory comments.
-
Close the
examination by telling the examinee that the examination is
over and ask if there is further information the examinee
would like to add.
Dr. Dennis will reach conclusions that are based on facts and
sound medical knowledge, and for which he has adequate
substantiation based on the objective medical evidence.
Dr. Dennis will be prepared to address conflict in the medical
record in a professional and constructive manner.
Dr. Dennis will never accept a fee which is dependent on writing
a report favorable to the referral service.
Dr. Dennis will maintain confidentiality consistent with the
applicable legal jurisdiction.
