1. WHAT IS AN INDEPENDENT MEDICAL
EVALUATION (IME)?
The IME is a thorough, impartial assessment of the medical
condition of a patient.

WHO REQUIRES AN INDEPENDENT MEDICAL EXAMINATION?
An IME is required by
a variety of professionals including claims adjusters, medical
case managers, employers, worker’s compensation board
commissioners, and attorneys (defense and plaintiff).
Certified independent medical examiners are an essential
resource for the case and claims management professionals. They
provide impartial and thorough assessments to enhance the
evaluation process and can play a roll in producing beneficial
results for all involved, including the examinee.
3. HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN IME?
IME’s are usually scheduled by attorneys, insurance companies,
medical case managers, and worker’s compensation companies.
They are scheduled by calling our office at (732) 775-5189.

4. HOW MUCH DOES DR. DENNIS CHARGE
FOR AN IME?
Dr.
Dennis charges $750.00 for a standard IME. However, the cost
may vary due to the complexity of the medical records and the
time Dr. Dennis may be required to spend with a patient to
provide a quality well substantiated report.

5. WHAT IS DR. DENNIS’ FEE FOR
TESTIMONY?
Dr. Dennis charges approximately $3500.00 for an
afternoon. (Please see our fee schedule
for additional information regarding Dr. Dennis’ fees.)
6. WHAT IS AN ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON?
Orthopedic surgery, also spelled “Orthopaedic”, is the medical
specialty concerned with the evaluation, preservation, and
restoration of the form and function of the spine and upper and
lower extremities. Specifically, the bones, joints, muscles,
ligaments, and tendons of the body. Orthopedic intervention may
take the form of medical, surgical and physical modalities.
Orthopedic surgery independent medical examiners are sometimes
requested in conjunction with Neurological IME’s.
7. IS DR. DENNIS STILL A TREATING
PHYSICIAN?
Yes, he is still a treating physician.
8. DOES DR. DENNIS HAVE EVENING
HOURS?
Yes, evening hours are available by arrangement.
9. WHERE DOES DR. DENNIS SEE
PATIENTS?
Dr. Dennis currently has locations in Monmouth County, Ocean
County and Middlesex County. He will be expanding to Mercer
County in the near future.
10. WILL I HAVE TO WAIT LONG TO SEE
THE DOCTOR?
IME’s are generally scheduled within three weeks. This gives
the client plenty of time to send us medical records which need
to be received within two weeks of the scheduled date. This is
done to assure us that the records are reviewed by the doctor
prior to the examination.
